Bucket Toteは、1980〜90年代、ロンドンを中心にイギリス各地の街を走るバスで実際に使用されていたタイベック製ロールサイン（方向幕）を使用した一点物のトートバッグです。

長い年月を経て役目を終えたバスロールサインを、国産帆布や姫路レザーなど日本の上質な素材と組み合わせ、国内の熟練したハンドバッグ職人が一つひとつ丁寧に仕立てています。

一枚一枚異なる文字や色、経年による擦れや跡も、それぞれの素材が歩んできた時間の表情です。同じデザインは二つと存在せず、バッグごとに異なる個性をお楽しみいただけます。

シンプルなバケツ型のフォルムは、見た目以上の収納力があり、日常のお出かけやショッピングはもちろん、サブバッグとしても活躍します。約270gと軽量で、男女問わずお使いいただけるデザインです。


見えない部分にも、手間を惜しまない。

SANS-SERIFでは、表からは見えない部分の仕立ても大切にしています。
今回のモデルでは、マグネットホック部分に補強用の芯材を挟み込む仕様を採用しました。開閉を繰り返す箇所だからこそ、細かな部分まで目を配り、一つひとつ丁寧に仕立てています。

また、タイベックの内側には芯材を手貼りで施し、帆布の裏側には綿オックス生地を貼り合わせることで、バッグ全体の美しいフォルムを保てるよう仕上げています。

本製品には、当時イギリスの路線バスで実際に使用されていた産業資材をアップサイクルして使用しています。

表面のクリーニングを行ったうえで製作しておりますが、シミや汚れ、擦れなどが残っている場合があります。これらは長い年月を経た素材ならではの表情として、そのまま生かしています。

繊細な素材のため、洗濯は推奨しておりません。帆布部分が汚れた場合は、薄めた中性洗剤を含ませた柔らかい布で、軽く叩くようにお手入れしてください。

摩擦や雨天時のご使用により色移りする場合がありますので、淡色のお洋服と合わせる際はご注意ください。ブラックの帆布は多少色落ちする場合があります。

また、タイベックの白い素地部分は、摩擦によって繊維が毛羽立つことがあります。素材の特性として、あらかじめご了承ください。



Bucket Tote / Grayish Beige

The Bucket Tote is a one-of-a-kind tote bag made using Tyvek bus roll signs (destination blinds) that were actually used on buses running through London and other cities across the United Kingdom during the 1980s and 1990s.

These bus roll signs, having completed their original service after many years of use, are combined with high-quality Japanese materials such as domestically produced canvas and Himeji leather, then carefully crafted one by one by skilled Japanese handbag artisans.

The lettering, colours, wear and marks differ from one piece to another, each reflecting the history and time carried by the original material. No two designs are exactly alike, allowing you to enjoy the unique character of each individual bag.

The simple bucket-shaped form offers more storage capacity than its appearance suggests and is suitable for a wide range of uses, from everyday outings and shopping to use as a secondary bag. Weighing approximately 270g, it is lightweight and designed to be used by anyone, regardless of gender.

At SANS-SERIF, we place great importance on the craftsmanship of the parts that cannot be seen from the outside.

In this model, a reinforcing core material has been inserted around the magnetic closure. As this area is opened and closed repeatedly, careful attention has been paid to every detail, with each bag constructed individually and with precision.

In addition, reinforcing material is applied by hand to the inside of the Tyvek, while cotton Oxford fabric is bonded to the reverse side of the canvas to help maintain the bag’s beautiful overall shape.

This product is made using upcycled industrial materials that were originally used on local buses in the United Kingdom.

Although the surface is cleaned before production, stains, marks and signs of wear may remain. These are preserved as part of the unique character of a material that has accumulated history over many years.

As the material is delicate, washing is not recommended. If the canvas becomes dirty, gently dab the affected area with a soft cloth moistened with diluted neutral detergent.

Please be aware that colour transfer may occur through friction or when the product is used in rainy conditions, particularly when worn with light-coloured clothing. The black canvas may also experience some colour fading.

In addition, the exposed white areas of the Tyvek may develop slight surface fuzzing through friction. Please understand that this is a natural characteristic of the material.
